Dear Parents/Guardians, Below is an overview of our on line timetable for Term 2. A daily lesson schedule will be posted each day in our Google classroom with what to do and a suggested time frame to follow. There will also be links to relevant online learning videos to help with most topics. The allocated times for each Key Learning Area is a recommended time only. This timetable is based on our usual day at school and we thought keeping a normal routine as much as possible was important. Students learn at different paces, some students will find the work set challenging, others will be looking for more to do. Please remember we are always here to help and answer questions. We have included links to online games to consolidate and extend those who finish work early and we are available via Zoom and Google Classroom to work one on one to those needing support. We do understand that working from home has many challenges and there will be days that just don’t go the way it was planned, welcome to teaching! Never before has parent/teacher relationships been so important, together we will continue to educate your child, hopefully in a fun, supportive and engaging way. Stay healthy Nerida and Cherie Hi everyone,
Please check our Google classroom on our stream for the information on our first zoom meeting. Mrs B We have hopefully ironed out the first few bugs in our video conferencing platform, and are ready to give it a go tomorrow!
Our video conference will be a great place to share what we've been doing at home and at school, share quality work and catch up with each other. We will have a Google Hangout at 9.00am each school day. When you log in, please make sure your camera is turned on mute your microphone until we're ready to talk. The link is https://meet.google.com/qgb-zmdq-vtt See you at 9:00 tomorrow! Hello!
Even though there is lots going on in the news and people are missing their friends, I am excited that we get to trial a different style of learning. Work will be posted in Google Classroom each week, some will be new and some familiar. Your school work will include a grid each week. There is no specific order you need to follow however it is important for you to get as much done as possible to a high standard. Make sure you are asking mum/dad/brother/sister/cat/dog to help or give their opinion or feedback (if your cat talks back you may have some extra issues). To access this week’s work, go into google classroom, and click on ‘Classwork’ along the top of the page. Then look down the left hand side of the page and click on ‘Week 9 Learning Activities’. All the links and activities you need are grouped together under this heading. The first post shows you the week’s activities in the grid, and posts below provide any links or worksheets you need to complete them. Some of the work is self marked, and some will need to be sent to me and checked. Please make sure that before you send it that you have double checked your work yourself and have asked someone at home to provide you with feedback before submitting it to me. You can either share your work with me directly (Docs, Slides etc) or present it during our Hangout at 10am or email it to me at [email protected] From Week 10 we will have a Google Hangout at 10am. The details with how to connect will be posted on the blog later in the week. This will be an opportunity to check in with each other, ask questions and share some quality work. Please make sure you have your mic turned off before you join and that you are using the platform sensibly just like you were at school. Good luck with everything and contact me if you need help. Nerida Bourke Hello everyone, apologies for not blogging sooner, technical delays have restricted my access, (and it's not because I'm old!) For any students that are learning from home in our current circumstances, this will be a place to check for instructions for home learning activities, and work will be delivered through Google classroom. For any extra information and extra learning resources please refer to the Education Departments Learning from Home web page: https://education.nsw.gov.au/teaching-and-learning/curriculum/learning-from-home To access Google classroom students need to log into their student portal, then use the following code to access our classroom: 7wwxz5w . Here is a link if your child has forgotten how to access Google class room:
Keep checking our Google classroom site for weekly learning activities, the first of which should be on tomorrow.
Stay safe and well, Nerida Bourke |
